Spooky Play is underway!

19th Oct 2023

As we approach the Halloween season, we have added a few extra items to our outdoor play areas. We have transformed part of our Play area into a Pumpkin Patch, with pumpkins of all shapes, colours and sizes.  Our story is Christopher Pumpkin, who was a pumpkin unlike any other- rather than being scary he was kind.  So we are reminding ourselves how to play with kind hands, feet and words.
The investigation area has had some 'murky water' added, with skeletons, eyeballs, spiders and more included for the children to find using the tweezers.
The sand area, we discovered, now has skeleton bones buried within! Who owns them, no-one knows! The hunt is on to find all the parts of the skeleton, which is proving more difficult than we thought!
With some cobwebs, ghosts and ghouls also added and indeed the addition of ingredients for potion making, it's all great learning for the children in Year 1-3!
