Year 2 Nature Rangers 30/09/24
Today was a wet day, so we decided to build ourselves some dens to keep us dry! We discussed what materials might be best to use and how we could work together to create a shelter. The children divided into groups and using tarpaulins, bamboo sticks and pegs they set off to make the most creative dens! It was interesting to see the progression of each construction and the use of the natural materials which they found as well. After they had complete, each group had the opportunity to present their final design to everyone else. One group even had a catapult! The children all agreed that a roof was very important to include because, in the words of one of our participants, 'You would get soaked if you didn't have a roof over you'. The session ended with some juice, breadsticks and orange slices. What a super bunch!
