🐷The Three Little Pigs STEAM Challenge🏡
The children in Year 1 and 2 were set a challenge today… to build a house for the Three Little Pigs. It had to be strong and withstand the huffing and puffing of the Big Bad Wolf!
Each group learnt about the important role of an architect, and then designed their house. When they were happy with their design, they then used a variety of materials to build their creations! They chose from lolly sticks, playdough, straws, large Lego, magnetiles, sticklebricks, card, sellotape, masking tape and more!
The children soon realised that some of their original designs were a bit more difficult to make than they had originally thought. However, they stuck at it and each group created some wonderful homes! Using their science, technology, engineering, art and maths skills they all made houses which the Big Bad Wolf (Mrs. Barrett) was unable to blow down.
When asked what they would change if they could do it again, they said, “have more time to make it even better”.
Some great engineers in the making in Year 1 and 2! 👷👷🏻♀️
