The Canavan Cup St. Ciaran’s College, Ballygawley

Today our football squad returned to St. Ciaran’s Ballygawley to try and retain their title to lift the Canavan Cup for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, it was not to be as they were just pipped in the Final after a great game including extra time against a very strong St. Mary’s P.S., Ballygawley. Earlier in the day our squad played 7 games within the group stage of the tournament. Our players performed fantastically well and progressed from the group into the Final after going unbeaten all day. Overall, it was a great day with lots of great football and lots of great skill on display. Congratulations to St. Mary’s on winning The Canavan Cup. Our children had a fantastic day and had the opportunity for photographs with the Sam Maguire Cup. Thanks to St. Ciaran’s Ballygawley for the invitation to a very well organised day and well done to everyone involved.
