St. Bridget's Feast Day π
Today, Years 6 & 7 marked the very important feast day of St. Brigid. The pupils were delighted to be able to work together and make St. Brigid's Day Crosses. They learned about Ireland’s second patron saint, St. Brigid, and how she created the cross from rushes to help explain to the people of Ireland about God. The St. Brigid’s Cross is made out of rushes and is traditionally hung in our homes to gain Brigid's protection and healing for the family over the coming year. This year we celebrate 1500th anniversary of Saint Brigid in Ireland. Well done to all who made the beautiful crosses, definitely a tradition to carry on.
