🎃🥣Pumpkin Soup🥣🎃
22nd Oct 2024
The children in Year 1 and 2 learnt how to make Pumpkin Soup today! First of all they listened to the story, Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper. They learnt how important it is to give everyone a chance to try something different, even though it might be out of your comfort zone. Sharing responsibility is important, like the duck, squirrel and cat learnt in the story. Afterwards, the children got to make their very own pumpkin soup, by working together. First they gathered the ingredients, then cut them up. We even had a visit from Fr. McGahan who asked to try our soup when it was ready! After all the chopping and stirring, the soup was ready to be cooked! The children completed an activity whilst they waited. Then it was taste time! It was a thumbs up from most of the children, who had never tried pumpkin soup before. It tasted all the better as they made it themselves! During outdoor play, some children had a go making pretend soup using real pumpkins… what a busy day! 🥣🎃
