Congratulations to the boys and girls who participated, with great sportsmanship and success, in the first round of the Flahavan's Ulster Cross Country League in Castlederg on the 24th October, 2023.
The fun runners, who ran a 600m course, finished as follows; Hannah Donnelly (11th), Lucy O'Hagan (19th), Connie O'Hagan (29th).
Calum Woods, Eoin McGirr and Conor McCarroll all finished in the top 15 in the boys' fun run. Well done, everyone!
In the girls' team race, which was their first time in a competitive team race for some of them, the girls performed brilliantly and were placed as follows; Anna Kate Montague (5th), Carly Beattie (29th), Lucia McKenna (30th), Aoife Donnelly (44th), Elizabeth Mellon (51st) and Saorlaith Shields (53rd). The team is currently 8th place in the league table. Congratulations, girls!
In the boys' team race, one of the fastest races in recent years, the outstanding results were;
Ben Scullion (8th), Oisin Mc Kenna (10th), Jude Fox (21 st), Thomas Cullinan (24th), Ronan McGarvey (39th) and Noah Woods (40th). The team now sits in 2nd place in the league table out of 17 schools across Tyrone and Fermanagh. Super, boys!
A massive thank you to Tracey Scullion for organising the event and to Miss. Devine, Mrs. Shevlin and Mrs. Kelly for accompanying the children to Castlederg.
