🏮Chinese New Year!🐍
Today, 29th January, 2025, marks Chinese New Year. This is the year of the Snake! The children in Year 1&2 listened to a piece of news about this special day on Newsdesk, then went outside to see could they find a snake… not a real one of course! They realised there was the shape of a snake on our playground and so each child took one area to decorate with chalk. They realised they also had to work together to exchange colours to create patterns, which links with our thinking skill this month- working with others. Then, back in class, we talked about some ways Chinese New Year is celebrated, one being with lanterns. The children made their very own Chinese Lanterns, which they added their own special details too. What a fun way to celebrate the Chinese New Year! 🐉
