A mini beast hunt is a great Forest School activity but you don’t have to have a forest nearby. Our school grounds made a great location. On our mini beast hunt, pulling back the grass around the tree trunk and moving large rocks revealed all sorts of mini beasts. Year 6 and 7 children worked in groups to identify, sort and record the numbers of different types of mini beasts. They used the Mini beast recording sheet and recorded exactly what they found.
