Today we joined up with McClintock Primary School to visit Parkanaur Forest. We had a brilliant day discovering lots of exciting new things about the World Around Us. We took to the river to determine its width, depth and velocity. We went pond dipping and Stephen from the Speedwell Trust at Parkanaur was very excited when we caught Mayfly Nymphs, Freshwater Shrimps, Pondskaters, Diving Beetles, Water Louse, and the extremely rarely caught Cased Caddis Fly! We also made water wheels and tested them out - we learned so much and had great fun!.
